Walk-in freezer installation and repair
New freezers, replacements and breakdowns across Metro Vancouver. A freezer carries roughly twice the load of a cooler the same size and has a defrost system that never stops working — which is why most freezer faults are defrost faults.
24/7 emergency line
Freezer iced up? Ring it now.
Refrigeration failures are answered at any hour, any day. Tell us where the ice is forming and we will know what to bring.
What do you need?
Tell us which of these you are dealing with and we will get to the point.
Ice is winning
Coil packed solid, ice on the ceiling or round the door, meltwater not draining. Ice is the warning that arrives before the temperature problem does.
You need a new freezer
New build or extra capacity. Freezer loads run far higher per square foot than cooler loads, so sizing matters more.
The old one is finished
Running constantly, never cycling, or on a refrigerant that is getting expensive to source.
What we cover

- Heated frames that have stopped heating
- Controller calibration and alarm setup
Ice coming back faster than it clears?
Call 672-762-7877. Tell us where the ice is forming — coil, ceiling, floor or under the evaporator — because that alone usually tells us what has failed. Please do not chip ice off a coil with a tool; a screwdriver through the tubing turns an awkward repair into an expensive one.
Who we do this for
- Restaurants and commercial kitchens
- Grocery and frozen food retail
- Butchers, seafood and meat processing
- Bakeries and prepared-food production
- Cold storage and food distribution
- Ice cream and frozen dessert operations
- Institutional and contract catering kitchens
Freezers reward planned servicing more than coolers do, because the defrost system has more to go wrong and the stock inside is worth more. See maintenance agreements.
See the difference for yourself
Put the same box size into the load estimator as a cooler, then as a freezer. The gap between the two numbers is why freezer sizing is not something to take a guess at.
Free, no email required, and every coefficient is printed on the page.
A recent job
A Copeland compressor and filter drier on a condensing unit. The nameplate tells us the refrigerant, the capacity and the age of the system before any tools come out — which is why we ask you to photograph it when you call about a breakdown.
Questions we get on the phone
The temperature is still fine but there is ice everywhere. Can it wait?
Not really. A coil icing faster than defrost can clear it will eventually block airflow, and then the box warms with no further warning. Ice is the cheap warning before the expensive problem.
My freezer never stops running. Is that normal?
Freezers run a lot by design, but they should still cycle. One that never stops is fighting something — ice on the coil, a dirty condenser, a leak or a door that is not sealing — and running up your power bill while it does.
How cold should it actually be?
Most operations run −18 to −23 °C. Colder is not automatically better: it costs more and makes defrost harder. Holding steady matters more than the number. Our freezer guide explains what defrost actually does.
Can you convert our cooler into a freezer?
Sometimes, but rarely by swapping equipment alone. Freezers need more insulation, a different defrost strategy and floor protection the box may not have. Tell us about the box and we will say honestly whether it is worth doing.
Where do you work?
Across Metro Vancouver — Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Delta, Langley, the North Shore and Squamish.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. InFlow Mechanical is licensed and insured, WorkSafeBC registered and carries commercial general liability insurance. Certificates are available on request.
Tell us where the ice is.
Or what you are planning to build. Either way, the nameplate and the controller reading get us a long way before we arrive.
