No heat? Not cooling? Running but getting nowhere?

Heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, mini-splits and air conditioning — repaired, serviced and installed for homes, businesses and industrial sites. Heating failures are covered on the 24/7 line.

No heat? Ring it now.

Heating failures are answered at any hour, any day. Do not send a form for a breakdown — it is not monitored overnight.

Tell us what it is doing

You do not need the right words for it. Describe what you are seeing and hearing on the phone — that is usually enough for us to know what to bring.

  • Nothing at all

No response from the thermostat, or the system starts and stops immediately. Often a control, a sensor or a tripped safety rather than the expensive part.

  • Running, but the air is cold

The fan works and the house stays cold. In a heat pump this often points to the refrigerant side; in a furnace, to ignition.

  • Not cooling in summer

It cannot keep up on a hot afternoon, or it never gets there at all. Dirty coils, low charge, or a system that was undersized from the start.

  • Short cycling

On and off every few minutes. Uncomfortable, hard on the equipment, and often a sign the system is too big for the space.

  • Some rooms never get there

One room roasts while another stays cold. Usually airflow, ductwork or zoning rather than the heating plant itself.

  • Bills climbing

Same house, same habits, higher bills. Something is working harder than it should be, and it rarely fixes itself.

  • Noises that are new

Banging, squealing, grinding or rattling. New noises are the cheapest warning you will get.

  • Ice on the outdoor unit

A heat pump frosts and defrosts normally in winter. A unit encased in ice that never clears is not normal.

No heat, a burning smell, or a breaker that will not reset?

Heating failures are covered on the 24/7 emergency line. Call 672-762-7877 rather than sending an online request — the request form is not monitored overnight. If you can smell burning or gas, shut the system off first.

Thinking about replacing it?

Three things worth working through before you commit to anything.

What size do I need?

A rough starting bracket from your floor area and the age of the building — and why an oversized heat pump is a worse outcome than a small one.

Repair it or replace it?

The four questions we work through on site, including the one most people miss.

What about rebates?

Multi-zone heat pump condensing unit on a flat roof with refrigerant gauges connected

A recent job

A multi-zone heat pump condensing unit, charged and commissioned on a flat roof. Gauges on the manifold is where sizing stops being theory — superheat and subcooling tell you whether the system is actually running the way it was designed to.

Questions we get on the phone

My heat has failed. Is that an emergency call?

Yes. Heating failures are covered on the 24/7 emergency line, alongside refrigeration failures. Call 672-762-7877 at any hour rather than sending an online request.

Is a heat pump actually worth it here?

The coast is about the best climate in Canada for one — mild winters mean a heat pump spends most of the year in its efficient range, and it gives you cooling in summer as well. Whether it suits your property comes down to the building and what you are heating with now.

Do you do a proper heat loss calculation?

Yes, and so do the rebate programs — several require one before they will pay out. Sizing by rule of thumb is how people end up with an oversized system that short cycles and never feels right.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. InFlow Mechanical is licensed and insured, WorkSafeBC registered and carries commercial general liability insurance. Certificates are available on request for commercial, property management and strata clients.

Where do you work?

Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Delta, Langley, North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Squamish. Call and tell us where the property is.
